| || Notes for MARY MATILDA VANLIEW:|
My (very sketchy) information is that Frederick Van Lieu was married to MaryMatilda Lisle. This marriage must have been about the 1775 - 1782 timeframe.
He was probably born around 1755. His daughter Mary Matilda marriedEliphalet Wheeler in New York City, about 1801.
Could the Van Lieu name have come from Van Leuwen, which I see in recentcorrespondence? Does anyone recognize the Van Lieu or Lisle surnames?
I would greatly appreciate hearing from anyone who recognizes these names.

Hello Don, List,
From the Van Liew Genealogy, last updated in 1956, pp. 32 and 33:
From the Johnannes Van Lewen branch--
Frederick Van Leaw married Mary Betts.
Of seven children there was:
John, born 1735, died 1812
Frederick F., born 2-5-1755, died 12-31-1832.
Is this your Frederick? There are many Fredericks.
No matter, This Frederick (Van Lew) married Penelope Stout in 1760. John Van Lew, his brother, married Martha Denton in 1763. Of eight childen, there was:
Mary (Polly), born 1780?, married Eliphalet Wheeler.
Nothing on Lisle.
Hope this helps some.
