Mrs. James, wife of Samuel James of Elk Township, an aged lady, was thrown from her horse at Young's School House Bridge, and her foot hung in the stirrrup.The horse in terrible fright ran over a quarter of a mile draggingMrs. James by his side until he was caught by Mr. Jesse C. Riley.Her clothes were alltorn off and she was frightfully bruised.Her foot became extricated from the stirrup before the horse was caught, but it was too late.She died in a few minutes, in much pain.She was loved by all who knew her, and her untimely death is sadly mourned.
