The 1930 Census lists him as an unmarried boarder, living with his aunt Ona M. Ray's family on Water Street.
He was apparently a sickly person who died relatively young. He was described as "a loner and a misfit." The 1920 Census lists him as a teenager living with his grandparents, Les and Ada Ray.
