[L49] [W67b] Administration given 4th August 1621 to Thomas [1257] Yaxley the son of Robert [2118] Yaxley senior , a butcher by trade.
[W70g] is the Will of Thomas Yaxley of Alby made in 1645 - Alby is about 5 miles south of Sheringham. In the Will [W70g] Thomas names Cicely, his first wife now deceased and his current wife Elizabeth. He names his children as Thomas under 22 years, Robert under 21 years of age and Cicely under 14 years of age. Significantly he leaves all his houses and land in Sheringham to Thomas and his butchers businesses to his daughter Cicely. The fact that he has property in Sheringham and butchers leads me to believe he is Thomas [1257] the son of Robert [2118] who was a butcher.
Thomas [1257] has a daughterCicely, named after her mother, who is under 14 years of age.
Thomas dies in 1645 and has re married after the death of his first wife Cicely.
There is a Thomas Yaxley who marries a Cicely Cooke in Norwich 29/04/1633 which seems likely to be Thomas [1257]. If so children would be born say Thomas 1634, Robert 1636 and Cicely 1638 making her 7 years old in 1645. If wife Cicely died about 1638 there is time for Thomas [1257] to grieve and marry Elizabeth before 1645.
Thomas [1257] may have married late since a marriage date of 1633 suggests born c1603. This would mean he was only 18 in 1621 - possibly old enough at 18 to get the administration?
Finally he directs wife Elizabeth to pay his brother Robert £100. Thomas [1263] has a brother Robert [2118] but both died before 1645. This leaves only Robert [1265] born 1597 to 1608 with a brother Thomas [1257] making their father Robert [2118] - my final proof!
