In the 1880 Greene Co. Marriage Index, Preston McKinnon married Maranda (Amanda, Miranda, Armanda) Tincher on 2 June 1866. In the 1880 census for Washington, Greene Co,In, it lists Pres. McKinnon and Miranda having 3 children, Willie, age 12 b: IN, Stella, age 7 b: In, and Daniel, age 1 b: In. Preston was age 46 and was an engineer. Miranda was 26, which put her at age 12 when her and Preston married, and age 14 when she had Willie. I have my doubts about this, but as anyone knows who has done family genealogies, you can't always believe what you read.
Preston B. McKinnon was my GR.GR.GR. Grandfather. His daughter Estella McKinnon was born in 1876 in Indiana. She had twin girls, Clara and Mary Laura (Mae)in 1902, in Little Rock Arkansas. On Estella's tombstone it says, daughter of Preston B. McKinnon and a ? for her Mother. After 25 years, I haven't found much else except my Dad Herbert Wm. Young, son of Clara, said he had an Uncle Bill who had 24 kids, 12 by first wife, 12 more by second wife, so I should be able to track him down somehow. Anyone interested in this line of McKinnon's, please let me know.
